A neighbor as a Jack Russell terrior that I was thinking of adopting….?

Only problem is, she pees when she gets excited, (meeting new people, etc.) Any ideas on how to stop this behaviour? She’s a great little dog, and she’s about a year old.

Thanks!

Adopt that little girl and work on the submissive/excited peeing. She is still young and this can be eliminated with proper correction which is none.

When you know someone is coming to the house let them know ahead of time not to respond to her when they come in the house. No eye contact, no talk, no touch. Ignore. When you show affection to a dog in an excited state it just intensifies the problem.

Once she settles, then give her attention.

Don’t make a big deal out of it. And if you can start teaching her a sit/stay when people come over or when you are out walking her that would be good. Use treat reward.

Good luck and get the dog!
